Biography
Axel is a PhD student at Heriot-Watt University, where he researches geologic hydrogen stimulation and recovery through reactive transport modelling. His work addresses how geochemical, microbial, and geological uncertainties influence subsurface flow and overall hydrogen recovery. Axel holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology and an MS from Texas A&M University. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a reservoir simulation engineer at Rock Flow Dynamics Indonesia and as a post-master researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His expertise spans oil and gas, hydrogen storage, carbon sequestration, geothermal energy, and machine learning.
